Jenny and Scott had their beautiful Costa Rica destination wedding at the El Mangroove, a sustainable boutique, lifestyle resort that boasts a modern design which incorporates Costa Rica’s natural beauty through wood and water elements along with bamboo, stone and natural furnishings that merge all indoor and outdoor spaces. El Mangroove spans across 17 acres, and is situated on 150 meters of beach front, Playa Panama and located on the prestigious Gulf of Papagayo on the northern Pacific Coastline of Guanacaste. Ruth Cristina Rodriguez the Event Coordinator from the El Mangroove helped Jenny and Scott with all of the preparations and as you can see she does fantastic work and is a pleasure to work with.
Jenny and Scott met in Las Vegas, where Scott was attending his friend’s bachelor party and Jenny was with her close friend who was visiting from her home country Belarus. Jenny’s friend later became one of her bridesmaids and despite the famous expression “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”, Jenny and Scott stayed in touch after that weekend and went out on their first date a couple of weeks later. They became pretty much inseparable after that and Scott proposed on their second year anniversary and that is when they began their wedding planning.
Jenny and Scott always knew they wanted a destination wedding – not only would it give their guests an excuse to get away and have a memorable experience, but considering Jenny’s family lives in Belarus and would have to travel for the wedding, it only seemed fair that they travel as well. After considering a few destinations, Costa Rica sounded like a perfect choice. Scott had been to Costa Rica before and loved it, and after finding and falling in love with El Mangroove, the decision was very easy that Costa Rica would be where their destination wedding would take place.
Some fun facts about the wedding planning:
Although Jenny and Scott hadn’t ever visited the property or area until 3 days before the wedding, and had to coordinate everything remotely, they had no regrets about it, as El Mangroove and Playa Panama looked even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. They didn’t have a wedding planner and relied on the hotel event coordinator Cristina and their own creativity and efforts with some special touches that they wanted to incorporate. Some of the elements from Jenny’s home country Belarus were the table runners with their initials “S&J” as well as little dry flower posies on the table that were handmade and brought by Jenny’s mom from Belarus, which made it very special for Jenny. Some people might find it stressful but Jenny and Scott both loved the experience and looking back at their wedding day now it’s very rewarding to see that everything turned out exactly how they had envisioned.
